The real Maia, a 12 Year Old Filipina Child Artist, Holds Her First Painting Exhibit

Our youngest daughter is the real Maia - Maia Angela C. San Diego, fondly called Chinkay, Inkay and Inx. She just turned 12 last July 28 and marked it with her first solo painting exhibit titled "Larong Bata."

The exhibit opened yesterday, August 16, and will run until September 13 (note: extended to October 14) at Likha Diwa sa Gulod Cafe, C.P. Garcia Avenue, UP Diliman (beside Bgy. Krus na Ligas).

Maia has 25 acrylic on canvas paintings on display, with 19 for sale. Four have been sold at the opening, with three more snapped up soon after.

More pics of her paintings can be seen at my Manila Mom blog.

The entire family is so proud of Inx. Like her siblings, she has found her own passion at a young age and is pursuing it with complete abandon. We are, of course, behind her a hundred percent.

Do drop by Likha Diwa if you happen to be in the vicinity. They serve very good food and coffee which you can enjoy while surrounded by a 12 year old's playful art explorations.

Hi Audrey!

That depends on the kind of writing you want to have published. Find a publisher that puts out that kind of book and inquire about their submission guidelines.

If you want to write Filipino romance novels, for example, you can first buy some samples from the bookstore. Find the books that are like the ones you would be writing then inquire at their publishers.

For chicklit written in English, you could inquire from Psicom or Summit Publishing. For romance novels in Filipino, there's Precious and many other publishers.

Good luck!
